This is the updated mission statement and exit learning outcomes aligned with vision of affiliated university approved by college academic council after involvement of stakeholders.

Our vision is to keep the graduate apt with ever emerging global health challenges evolving educational methodologies and emerging technological advancement to maintain its distinguishable position as a Medical University.

MISSION STATEMENT WDCR

The mission of Watim Dental College is to be a modern educational and training institute fostering a commitment to excellence in oral health care, research, and community service. In order to meet national and global dental health needs, the college will produce competent dental practitioners who are life-long learners, critical thinker, leaders, health promoters, evidence based practitioners, good communicators and self-accountable.

EXIT LEARNING OUTCOMES BDS PROGRAM WDCR

At the end of four years dental undergraduate program, the graduates will be able to:

KNOWLEDGEABLE

1. Assess the patients independently, order relevant investigations, and formulate a treatment plan.

2. Modify dental treatments according to patient’s individual needs, e.g., physical or mental disabilities.

SKILLFULL

3. Apply clinical skills to diagnose dental health problems, formulate management, and execute dental procedures competently.

4. Refer the patients with case difficulty indices requiring consultation or treatment by specialists.

5. Exercise infection control protocol guidelines laid out by their local and global health councils.

LEADER & ROLE MODEL

6. Demonstrate exemplary conduct and leadership potential in initiating, participating in, and adapting to change, using scientific evidence and approaches.

7. Exercise team management skills in private practices with other health care professionals.

PROFESSIONAL & ETHICAL

8. Reflect ethical practice by demonstrating empathy and respect towards patients.

9. Maintain patient records with emphasis on legal and patient confidentiality aspects.

RESEARCHER & LIFELONG LEARNER

10. Participate in research & scholarly activities and apply evidence based dentistry in practice.

11. Update existing knowledge through continuing educational programs.

COMMUNITY HEALTH PROMOTER

12. Demonstrate knowledge of common health issues of the community dental health.

13. Apply collaborative dental health promotion and prevention of disease programs.
